Where did “elbows up” go?
Mark Carney’s election campaign was heavily centered on resisting Donald Trump.
The initial encounter between the American president and the newly elected Canadian prime minister was without any highly tense moments. Both leaders were saying only positive things about one another.
It appears almost as if Carney’s demeanor towards Trump has changed. He even thanked Donald Trump for leadership in securing the border, halting fentanyl smuggling, and “securing the world.”
“Securing the world”?
Trump said that Carney had a good campaign and that he has seen the Prime Minister come up through the ranks.
Did Carney employ anti-Trump sentiment in Canada to influence voters to vote for him? Why did Trump want Carney to be elected? What business have these two had in the past?
Lots of questions, not many answers.
What we do know is Carney is a contributor to the extremely contentious World Economic Forum. He is one of the prime proponents of net zero and has hinted at imposing on American social media sites.
Trump’s platform stands contrary to these points. So why would he, then, wish for Mark Carney to run Canada?
