Scandalized reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley presented themselves as property moguls on their popular show “Chrisley Knows Best.” Decades later, they had their assets frozen and life was far from a gilded set.
“Chrisley Knows Best” tracked their close-knit, loud family and the Chrisleys’ extravagant lifestyle in Atlanta and Nashville. The show attracted over 2 million viewers through its eighth season and generated spin-offs like “Growing Up Chrisley” and “According to Chrisley.”
But on Jan. 17, 2023, the Chrisleys surrendered their life of luxury for time in prison, turning themselves in to their respective prisons. The reality TV pair was motivated by greed, prosecutors said, as they went through a widespread bank fraud scheme and then concealed their fortune from tax authorities.
While behind bars, the celebrity couple continued making headlines.
And their appeal has even gone to the top: Savannah Chrisley, Todd and Julie Chrisley’s daughter, has asked President Donald Trump’s administration for their pardon. The Chrisleys remained in their respective prisons up to May 20, 2025, although daughter Savannah Chrisley served as a guest speaker at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in July of 2024, preceding the 2024 presidential election.
