Samsung isn’t exactly the first (or maybe not even the fifth) brand you think of when you think of the big guns in smart speakers, but it’s hard to deny the coolness of a speaker that can also be wall-mounted. Similar to the discontinued Ikea x Sonos Symfonisk, Samsung’s Music Frame can play tunes from one of many audio sources, though it’s more customizable, letting you slot in up to a 8 x 10-inch physical image (8 x 8 is also an option). It’s elegant and capable, like the company’s own very popular The Frame TV lineup, and it’s 69 percent off right now at Woot.
The Music Frame is now $124.99 (reduced from $399.99), and also includes a one-year manufacturer guarantee via Woot. This is conveniently better than the earlier price low of $195 at Amazon in March.
Samsung’s Music Frame is a 12.9 x 12.9 photo frame with a physical print at the front that you can personalize with art or a photo. In addition to Dolby Atmos support, it supports the Amazon Alexa and Samsung Bixby voice assistants.
This do-it-all smart speaker can sit on its supplied stand or be mounted on your wall. It supports Tidal Hi-Fi content, Spotify Connect, Apple AirPlay, and Chromecast. It supports Q-Symphony too, if you have some of Samsung’s specialized entertainment gear, to work as an additional channel in your surround sound system. Instead of inserting a photo, you can have your own Art Panel designed through Shutterfly to place over the 12.9 x 12.9-inch face of the Music Frame.
Woot restricts users to buying three items at a time, and it’s sort of crazy to believe that purchasing that many from Woot would still see you saving $25 over the going rate for a single Music Frame through Samsung or Amazon.
