“Fire Schumer?” Public Calls for Removal and Prosecution of Senate Majority Leader Grow Louder Amid Corruption Storm

Washington, D.C. — Can the American people fire a sitting senator?

It’s the question echoing across town halls, talk shows, and trending hashtags as Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) faces mounting backlash over alleged ethical violations, failure to investigate executive overreach, and his continued role in what critics describe as a “D.C. protection racket for the corrupt.”

Public frustration with the long-serving Senate Majority Leader reached new heights this week after Schumer dismissed calls to investigate unauthorized executive orders, defended controversial surveillance provisions, and referred to a constitutional crisis as “just more partisan noise.”

But Americans aren’t buying it anymore.

“We don’t want noise—we want answers,” said North Carolina veteran James Foster. “Chuck Schumer is the reason why no one gets held accountable in D.C.”

A viral post on X (formerly Twitter) summed it up:
“If we can’t fire him, can we at least pay him to leave? Chuck’s golden parachute should land in a jail cell.”

What Schumer Is Accused Of Ignoring—or Enabling

In recent weeks, Schumer has come under fire for:

  • Refusing to investigate the now-notorious “autopen scandal” involving forged presidential signatures on executive orders.
  • Blocking legislation that would limit unmonitored digital surveillance—despite bipartisan concern about the Fourth Amendment.
  • Allegedly coordinating with intelligence committee insiders to prevent disclosure of secret Pentagon briefings related to domestic security.

Schumer has not been formally charged with any wrongdoing. But his name appears in multiple watchdog complaints filed by legal groups such as Judicial Watch and Protect the Public’s Trust, citing possible obstruction of congressional oversight and ethics violations tied to classified briefings and lobbying disclosures.

Can Chuck Schumer Be Fired or Recalled?

Technically, U.S. senators cannot be “fired” mid-term by the public. However, there are mechanisms for removal:

  1. Expulsion from the Senate: This requires a two-thirds vote by fellow senators and is extremely rare. Only 15 senators have ever been expelled—mostly for treason during the Civil War.
  2. Censure or Ethics Investigation: The Senate can formally censure or discipline a member. Such actions don’t remove a senator, but they damage political credibility.
  3. Criminal Indictment: If federal prosecutors bring charges and secure a conviction for felony crimes (e.g., bribery, conspiracy, or obstruction), a senator may be forced to resign or be expelled.
  4. Ballot Box Removal: Schumer’s next scheduled re-election is in 2028, but grassroots movements are already organizing primary challenges in New York and calling for a resignation now.

“We need term limits and recall power,” said former NY gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino. “Schumer’s made himself untouchable—and that’s the problem.”

Severance Package… or Prosecution Package?

One satirical petition now circulating online proposes a $1 million “early resignation bonus” to get Schumer to retire—mocking the generous pensions and benefits senators receive regardless of performance.

But others aren’t laughing.

Former federal prosecutor Sidney Powell told Real America’s Voice: “If evidence comes forward that Schumer suppressed intelligence oversight or knowingly helped block investigations into forged executive orders, then yes—he could be looking at criminal liability.”

Whistleblowers from the Office of Legislative Counsel have anonymously told The Daily Signal that there were concerns Schumer’s office pressured committee chairs to delay subpoenas related to foreign influence in energy sector policies.

The Chuck Schumer Problem Isn’t Just Chuck Schumer

While outrage focuses on Schumer, critics say he symbolizes a larger failure of accountability in the Senate.

“He’s a creature of the swamp,” said conservative commentator Mark Levin. “But more than that, he’s the damn swamp manager. And he’s got lifetime immunity unless voters and honest lawmakers do something now.”

Progressives, too, have grown disillusioned with Schumer’s leadership. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has openly criticized his refusal to take on Wall Street tax loopholes and the military-industrial complex.

“He’s been in the room for every war, every surveillance bill, every bank bailout—and nothing ever changes,” one liberal voter told NPR. “He’s not left, he’s not right, he’s just deep state deluxe.”

Public Pressure Mounts: “You’re Not Untouchable, Chuck”

With town halls erupting in protest and digital campaigns under hashtags like #FireSchumer, #ChuckMustGo, and #DeepStateSenator, the pressure is mounting.

A new YouGov/FNF News poll shows that 59% of Americans believe Schumer should resign or be removed from Senate leadership, including 42% of registered Democrats.

That number has doubled since April.

And while Schumer insists he’s simply “doing the people’s work,” many are no longer buying the message.

“What the people want is for Chuck Schumer to stand before a committee—not behind a podium,” said Georgia resident Kara Daniels. “Enough is enough.”
